Dear Clients and Families:

With so much uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 virus (Corona Virus), we at Adultcare Assistance want to share what actions we are taking to keep our clients and their loved ones safe. The safety and wellbeing of our clients has been, and will always be, our number one purpose.

While most cases of COVID-19 are mild, causing only fever and cough, a very small percentage of cases become severe and may progress, particularly in the elderly and people with underlying medical conditions. Because this is the primary population that we serve, we want to share with you how we are responding to the threat of COVID-19. Through our Emergency Preparedness Plan, Adultcare Assistance wants to assure you that we are doing everything we can for the safety of our clients and staff. We are continually following updates and best practices from both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

  • All caregivers follow established protocol regarding staying home when sick. This practice is not new to our staff.
  • All caregivers are trained in Universal Precautions for standard protocol in disease and infection control.
  • We are in constant communication with our caregivers to educate on COVID-19 with updates regarding best practices.
  • We are working closely with facilities and other living communities on any protocols, exchange of information, or other guidelines as necessary.

Our response and plans may adjust according to the severity of the spread of illness in communities or the response taken by national and state authorities. In some states we are seeing mandatory isolation, closure of schools, and other precautions. Staffing levels may be affected. We will do everything in our power to ensure your shifts are covered by your preferred caregiver; however, there may be changes in coverage/staffing and in certain situations we may be unable to cover all shifts. Our Emergency Preparedness Plan has multiple policies in place to protect our clients and staff in different areas of need: from shift coverage, to emergency supplies- we have laid the groundwork to provide supports to those in our care and employment.

We have asked our caregivers to immediately report, to the office, if they have been exposed to, or come in close contact with, anybody that is exhibiting any symptoms or signs of illness. Via our 24/7 On-Call Manager, we will remain in contact with our caregivers to ensure that they are safe to be in your home. To keep our office staff safe, we are limiting unnecessary visits to the office, and keeping home visits to a minimum for field staff. We also ask that if you have come in contact with someone who is showing signs of illness, or if you yourself are- please call us as soon as you can, even afterhours.

We strongly believe that home remains the safest place for you or your loved one, as indications show that the virus is spread more quickly in facilities and larger group or public settings. Possible exposure will remain the lowest for those who are able to stay in their homes with limited outside contact. For this reason, we feel fortunate to be able to provide care that can keep people at home or limited exposure in group settings through personalized care and support.

We want to assure you that your health and safety is important to the entire staff at Adultcare Assistance. We will continue to advise you with any changes, or appropriate updates. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Krystal Wilkinson | Senior Home Care Assistance
